Library card
You need a library card to borrow books from the Social Sciences Faculty Library.
Students and staff use their LU card as library card. Other users receive a library card at the circulation desk.
The library card, which is valid at all the libraries at Lund University, is used to borrow material.
Getting a library card
Students and staff: Pick up your LU card at a card station. To be able to use the LU card as library card you need to register a new account in LUBcat.

Other users, not affiliated with Lund university: Go to any of the libraries at Lund university to pick up a library card. Bring a valid photo ID.

Even if you are neither a student nor staff you are still welcome to use the libraries and borrow books. You need to have turned 18 and be resident in Sweden.
If you do not have a Swedish personal identification number (personnummer or samordningsnummer) and you are not affiliated with the university you must also submit a personal guarantee (PDF), in addition to a valid photo id. The personal guarantee needs to be signed by a Swedish resident older than 18 and this person also needs to accompany you to the library when you apply for your library card. This person cannot be an employee at any of the libraries.

Lost library cards
If you lose your library card, you must report it as soon as possible to the library. As a borrower, you are responsible for all loans registered on your library card.
Pin code
All LU cards has a pin code. It can not be changed.

If you are not a student or faculty at Lund University, you receive your pin code at the library. You can change it in your library account.
